Small School, Big Faith
We want to provide a Christian school community, where children feel secure, understand how to keep themselves safe and make the right choices with a clear moral purpose.
We want our school community to reflect on the teachings of Jesus in everyday life and to be gentle, kind and forgiving. We want our children to be brave and honest and respect and embrace diversity.
Collective Worship is a key part of our school day, setting the tone for the behaviour and ethos of our school family. We have strong links with our local Vicar, Rev Alan and parish church which we use on many occasions including R.E lessons and to mark key dates in the Christian calendar.
We want our children to flourish in school and to achieve their potential socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. One of the ways in which we promote this is though the teaching of 6 core Christian values which underpin the moral and spiritual guidance we give children to help them judge right from wrong and develop their own spirituality. Our core Christian values are
We learn about one of these each term and develop our knowledge and understanding of these through daily collective worship which includes celebration and praise through prayer, bible stories, hymns, readings, drama and reflection. We encourage all Christian values in everything we do in school and they are reinforced regularly through the relationships, language and attitudes in school as well as through practical opportunities.
We believe that our Christian identity plays an important role in upholding British values within our school community.and are an intrinsic part of our ethos and school culture.
